About us
Custom home builder & pool contractor in Avalon and Stone Harbor, NJ
Founded by Josh Gartner and Mauricio Morales, Coastal Modern Construction brings more than 55 years of combined experience building at the Jersey Shore. Before starting the company in 2021, Josh and Mauricio spent decades building custom homes for one of the shore's leading builders.
We handle the house and the backyard under one contract, work alongside the region's top architects, and guide every project through shore-town zoning and permitting.
“Building a home at the Shore should be one of the best experiences of your life, not one of the most stressful. We keep you informed every step of the way, and we enjoy the process right along with you.”

What Our Clients Say
★★★★★
“A responsive team that took the time to understand our goals and build the project around them — very happy with the service, engagement, price, and timing. If there was a sixth star, I'd have checked that too.”
★★★★★
“I've worked with a number of highly capable general contractors over the years, and none have matched CMC's attention to detail, workmanship quality, and communication. On top of that, they're a pleasure to work with.”
★★★★★
“Having remodeled five different condos in Ocean City, this was by far the most professional and seamless experience we've had. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the crew showed up when they said they would.”
